We work within a framework that recognises that every child is an individual and that all children have a need to develop and learn, through interaction with people and exploration of the world around them.

Educational kindergarten services for your family

At Kloisters in Rochester we feel that babies and young children need support as they begin a journey of self-discovery from a base of loving and secure relationships with parents and staff. The children need a nurturing environment in which these key people play an essential role. The framework focuses on the child and highlights the inter-relationship between growth, learning, development and the environment in which they are cared for and educated.

We aim to provide the children with enjoyable experiences in which they explore, investigate, discover, create, practise and consolidate their developing knowledge, skills and understanding, within our stimulating environment where the children’s learning is enhanced.

We offer a wide range of experiences and activities including Forest School, Sign along sessions, Ballet lessons and Football coaching along with a healthy lifestyle, that includes healthy food and teeth brushing.

Children Inspired by Yoga Rochester are unique multi-sensory, yoga inspired activity sessions, aligned to the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum. We encourage movement and enhance development through music and storytelling. Our happy and sociable classes are filled with fun, contributing to improving creativity and increasing confidence, combining physical activity with breathing and relaxation. All in a supporting, non-competitive environment.

During our weekly sessions, children have dedicated time and space to:

  • Develop physical flexibility and strength as well as breathing skills
  • Experience moments of stillness, feelings of calm and relaxation to support self-regulation
  • Build cognitive skills such as attention, concentration and memory
  • Express their thoughts and feelings to promote emotional wellbeing
  • Explore creativity and communication whilst building social confidence
  • Gain crucial skills for learning and life
