As part of Family First Nurseries’ The Magic of Giving campaign, Kloisters Kindergarten in Rochester embraced the true spirit of generosity and community on Saturday, 23rd November. Hosting a heart-warming Christmas Open Day, the nursery opened its doors to families and friends, rallying support for the Step and Learn Conductive Education Charity. This incredible event raised a remarkable £1,650 to aid children affected by movement disorders, such as Cerebral Palsy and other neurological or genetic conditions.
The day was packed with festive activities designed to spark joy. Children and families delighted in creating magical memories through an elf workshop, reindeer food crafting, and elf biscuit decorating. The nursery buzzed with energy as little ones hit the dance floor during a Christmas-themed disco, complete with festive mocktails.
Local businesses generously contributed to a raffle supporting the cause, while the highlight of the day was undoubtedly a special visit from Father Christmas himself, spreading cheer straight from the North Pole.
“Step and Learn charity is a cause close to our hearts,” said Ashleigh Lafford, Manager at Kloisters Kindergarten and Preschool. “As a nursery, we’ve seen the transformative impact their work has on children’s mobility and independence. Step and Learn doesn’t receive enough recognition for the life-changing support they provide. Raising £1,650 is incredible! It means 35 children will receive resources and assistance free of charge, helping them gain independence. What an incredible charity!”
Ricardo Soares, Area Manager, added, “We are excited to see the positive difference our little ones can make in the community and help those most in need.”
This event beautifully demonstrated how communities can come together to make a real difference. Kloisters Kindergarten’s Christmas Open Day was not just about celebration; it was about giving back, spreading kindness, and supporting a brighter future for children in need.
Let’s continue to share joy this festive season, remembering that the true magic of Christmas lies in the act of giving.
Wishing you a wonderfully magical festive season, from everyone at Kloisters Kindergarten and Preschool.
